We look forward to our 7th annual Indigenous Farming Conference in Callaway Minneots a February 18-20, 2010.  Once again this this event will be held at Maplelag Resort and Conference Center and we invite you to make your reservations early to secure a spot.  Room fees are $125.00 for overnight guests including meals, $205.00 for 2 nights, all meals, or $ 275.00 for three nights, all meals.  Conference fees are $60.00 for all three days or $25.00 a day and can be paid on site.  This year's conference will focus on work to restore Indigenous food varieties in our region, work to restore our food systems in our area (from farm to school programs to tribal food security overall).  We will be featuring some great technical innovations like tunnel garden projects, green house opportunities, raised beds, mushroom cultivation and organic farming.  As in past years, we will conduct workshops at the conference to strengthen our ties to our traditional farming practices including seed saving, soil preservation, insect control and others.  We also invite you to bring any traditional seeds you may be willing to share.  If you are interested in conducting a workshop or have any other questions, please let me know.
