Artist Bio: Heloha Tate was born in Oklahoma City and is a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. He is an aspiring visual artist with particular interest in acrylics. He also studies ballet, French horn and Chickasaw language lessons. He loves Native legends for his bedtime reading with his dad.
Artist Statement: “T for Tate” is my family’s letter T and my house. “Sand Painting” is like a flower and made a pattern with rainbow colors for all Indians. “Mother’s Day” wanted to make a beautiful picture of my hand for my Grandma, so she can remember me.
