Artist Bio: My name is Lexana Margarita Echegaray and I am a proud member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. I’m a sophomore at Desert View High school and I’m a small business owner. The root of my success and choices started from my hard times in my childhood. I found comfort in art and it’s an ongoing passion of mine. Although I love art, I am working hard and one day hope to become a sustainability engineer or sustainability consultant. I hope to be part of the change and make the world a better place.
Artist Statement: The name of my art piece is Together Alone this art piece represents that you can still be a good relative even in these hard times. We’re all in this together and it’s up to us to keep each other safe. As you can see the different silhouettes represent different types of households. Despite our differences we’re all one community and even through this pandemic we will Keep each other safe and healthy.
