Artist Bio: I love to draw. I carry a sketchbook with me wherever I go. My grandpa was the first person to give me a sketch book, because when I was little, I would draw on everything! I love to paint and color with markers, pencils, and crayons. Lately, I have been active in marches that bring awareness to important issues such as Missing and Murdered Women and Black Lives Matter. I am active as a Jingle Dress dancer at pow-wows throughout the United States and Canada and in our traditional ceremonies. My family and community means everything to me.
Artist Statement: I live in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and I am horrified by the events that have been happening in my city and throughout the United states about the way Black people and people of color have been treated not only recently, but throughout history. Due to the killings of people like George Floyd, Philando Castile and Breonna Taylor, most widely known and others, I am moved to be active in speaking out against the racist treatment of people of color, including Native Americans. I am submitting one of the posters I made in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his love for humanity. A second photo is a drawing of my friend Melanie, and the third photo is of a sketch in progress of Madusa. I am also interested in Greek Mythology.
