Remembering Our Sisters Forum

May 5, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

Free

We graciously invite you and your organization to the Remembering Our Sisters Forum, a virtual event being held on May 5, 2022, at 3:00 pm EST. The forum will be co-hosted by the Center for Native American Youth and Native Americans in Philanthropy.

May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Indigenous women, girls, trans and two-spirit+ people experience violence, sexual assault, go missing, and are murdered at the highest rates of any ethnic group. This epidemic of injustice has become known as the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirits+ (MMIWG2S+) crisis. In response to the crisis, the Center for Native American Youth created the Remembering Our Sisters Fellowship.

The Remembering Our Sisters Forum will provide an opportunity for philanthropy and stakeholders to 1) hear directly from youth leaders about their work in the MMIWG2S+ movement and fellowship and 2) discuss how philanthropy can support in addressing the crisis and centering youth in their investments. We request your attendance and support as we work together to increase the visibility and action to end the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit+ (MMIWG2S+) epidemic, advance policy to end violence against our Indigenous Peoples, and honor youth in solutions.

If you have any questions, please contact Cheyenne Brady at [email protected]. Thank you for your kind consideration of this invitation, and we hope to see you on May 5, 2022.

Date and Time: Thursday, May 5, 2022 | 12pm | 3pm ET

NAP’s CEO, Erik Stegman, (Carry the Kettle First Nation – Nakoda), will speak at the Remembering Our Sisters Forum
