The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have been severe in tribal communities. As cases of infection increased over the last several months, particularly on tribal reservations in the Southwest, the public became even more aware of the grave community infrastructure inadequacies across Indigenous communities. These include challenges to small businesses and employment, lack of access to healthcare and supplies, and inadequate access to food and housing.
