NAP & River Network Partner To Support Community-Led Forestry Projects

Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP) is thrilled to uplift an exciting new opportunity with River Network, offering a unique funding opportunity to support urban and community forestry projects. Through the Rooting Resilience program, federally recognized Tribes, Alaska Native communities, Tribal organizations, and community-based nonprofits can receive funding and technical assistance for projects that enhance forestry resilience and sustainability.

This initiative focuses on empowering communities in federally designated disadvantaged areas to lead projects that foster climate resilience and strengthen local ecosystems. Prioritizing first-time federal funding recipients, the program ensures these projects are accessible and impactful.

This partnership is funded by the Inflation Reduction Act and the USDA Forest Service, Urban and Community Forestry Program, reinforcing a commitment to supporting local communities’ efforts toward a sustainable future.
