- The position is within a philanthropic or nonprofit organization
- The position itself is philanthropic in nature and/or focuses on roles essential to or valued by the philanthropic sector i.e. fundraising, grantmaking, gift processing or development, donor relations, nonprofit management and/or administration, social justice, equity, conservation, etc.

Advertising Sales Representative

Position Type: Contract/Temporary, Part-Time Reporting To: Chief Strategy Officer
Compensation: Hourly rate plus commission
Job Summary
The Advertising Sales Representative is responsible for selling products and services that generate earned revenue. This role is crucial in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization and driving financial growth.
Role & Responsibilities
● Maintain and actively manage ICT’s existing advertising and sponsorship pipeline.
● Conduct outreach to prospective advertisers, sponsors, agencies, and Native-owned businesses.
● Identify and develop new sales leads through research, networking and referrals.
● Prepare customized advertising and sponsorship proposals.
● Negotiate and close advertising and sponsorship agreements.
● Maintain accurate sales records and pipeline updates using the organization’s CRM or tracking system.
● Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and leadership staff to develop sponsorship opportunities
that align with ICT’s mission and audience.
● Represent ICT professionally during meetings and networking opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
● Proven experience in advertising, media sales, sponsorship sales, or nonprofit fundraising.
● Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
● Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
● Comfortable working independently and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
● Experience using CRM software is preferred: Salesforce, Monday.com
● Familiarity with Indigenous communities, nonprofit organizations, media, or mission-driven
organizations is a plus.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured by:
● Maintaining consistent communication with existing advertising clients.
● Building a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
● Generating new advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
● Meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals.
● Contributing to the organization’s overall earned revenue objectives during the five-month contract.
Compensation
● Base Pay: $17-22/hour, up to 25 hours per week
● Commission: 5% of all renewal advertising and sponsorship sales and 15% on new business
● Payment: Commissions are paid after the nonprofit receives payment from the advertiser.
