Na’ah Illahee Fund (NIF) is seeking a highly qualified Development Director to join our team in supporting and furthering our mission. This position will create and drive NIF’s fundraising goals and strategies, expand its already robust donor base, and deepen its relationships with supporters both in the region and nationally.

Launched in 2005, Na’ah Illahee Fund began as a women’s giving circle. Embedded in community, NIF’s Indigenous-led philanthropy is modeling an approach that bridges financial investment with both grassroots capacity building and leadership development in culturally relevant ways. Our work addresses climate and environmental justice, food security and food sovereignty, civic participation, youth leadership, and advancing regenerative economies from a personal to systemic level. Role
Working closely with the Executive Director and founder, this position will grow existing foundation fundraising, social impact investments and major donor programs, and help steward NIF into its bright future.
Key Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for:
- Partnering with the ED, to create and drive NIF’s fundraising goals and strategies
- Developing and managing a comprehensive individual giving program including direct mail and online campaigns as well as a major donor stewardship strategy
- Expanding NIF’s donor base, increasing social impact investing, and deepening its relationships with supporters
- Growing existing foundation fundraising and major donor programs, including executing 3-5 fundraising and stewardship events per year
- Managing NIF and contract staff including: administration assistant, communications and digital media consultants and contract grant writers
- Performing other duties as required to support the integrity, health and wellness of NIF
Desirable Qualifications
Competitive candidates will have:
- MPA or equivalent preferred; experience may substitute for education
- Successful track record of creating and leading multi-million dollar fundraising programs
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ senior-level experience overseeing fundraising programs and raising gifts in a variety of ways and from a variety of sources, including foundations, major donors, social impact investing, and events
- Record of success in building and stewarding major donor relationships
- Demonstrated and long-time commitment to the Native community and women’s development, mentorship and leadership
- Extensive experience with donor database management, proficiency with Kindful a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and digital email programs such as MailChimp
- Minimum of two years’ experience managing direct reports
- Demonstrated commitment to the Native community and women’s development, mentorship and leadership
- Personal qualities of professionalism, integrity, discretion and reliability
Compensation
Annual compensation for this position is in the range of $100K annually depending on candidate qualifications. NIF offers a generous health care package, retirement, and vacation benefits.
