Native Americans in Philanthropy is dedicated to increasing and nurturing Indigenous representation in the philanthropic sector. With that in mind, the opportunities on our Job Board fit one of the following criteria:
- The position is within a philanthropic or nonprofit organization
- The position itself is philanthropic in nature and/or focuses on roles essential to or valued by the philanthropic sector i.e. fundraising, grantmaking, gift processing or development, donor relations, nonprofit management and/or administration, social justice, equity, conservation, etc.

Communications Coordinator
Job Details
- Streamline EGA communications by collaborating with the Communications Manager to develop workflows and a quarterly communications calendar
- Work together with the Communications Manager and EGA team to operationalize EGA’s Racial Equity POV by centering and amplifying Black, Indigenous, and all People of Color (BIPOC) and marginalized communities bearing the brunt of environmental oppression and applying a racial equity lens to all communications.
- Manage external communications to keep EGA’s website, brand, and social media content up-to-date (e.g. program descriptions, member highlights, photos, videos, etc.)
- Develop email and marketing campaigns, including newsletters, roundups, and rapid response communications.
- Manage the EGA member listserv to circulate announcements from members, oversee subscribers, and ensure communications meet listserv guidelines.
- Support the research, development, and planning of EGA co-sponsored peer learning opportunities and webinars organized by and for members of the network on topics of interest to environmental funders.
- Provide services and support to the EGA's diverse membership (e.g. member account creation, maintaining the member database, job board postings to the website and listserv), ranging from large foundations to individual trustees and family foundations.
- Support the development of events and programs communication materials by collaborating with EGA’s events and Tracking the Field teams
- Provide basic office administrative support such as developing agendas, facilitating staff meetings, and contributing to team planning.
- Contribute to EGA team culture and help build an equitable and sustainable workplace, realizing the values collectively expressed in the EGA Racial Equity POV.
- Attend philanthropic and equity-focused events as needed and develop funder relations with staff in foundations and other philanthropy-serving organizations.
- Lived and/or professional experience related to promoting environmental solutions and innovations that respect our Racial Equity Point of View and can implement it.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing and social media campaigns, including the ability to effectively communicate a narrative of equity and the environment through diverse media formats.
- Better than average oral and written communication skills; passion for writing and editing, with graphics and design experience. Experience using Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, a plus.
- Highly collaborative working style with excellent relationship-building skills and positive contribution to EGA’s organization culture
- Enjoy engaging with a wide range of people in person at events
- Extremely organized, friendly, creative, self-starting, with microscopic attention to detail
- Ability to perform under pressure in high profile situations, with patience and a sense of humor
- Ability to maintain high quality standards for online content, printed materials, and other external communications
- Experience managing a database, administering a website and learning new technologies
