- The position itself is philanthropic in nature and/or focuses on roles essential to or valued by the philanthropic sector i.e. fundraising, grantmaking, gift processing or development, donor relations, nonprofit management and/or administration, social justice, equity, conservation, etc.

Government Affairs Senior Program Manager, Administrative Action
Job Details
- Serve as a lead staff person for the newly formed Administrative Strategy Group (ASG) – a convening of policy experts dedicated to helping ‘write the rules of the road’ for climate investments passed as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
- Immediately begin convening experts to provide comments, feedback and advice to Agency staff who are seeking community input in response to Requests for Information.
- Working with the Implementation Work Group, facilitate the articulation of goals, priorities and benchmarks for how key climate investments within the IRA are accomplished and maximized.
- Working with the IWG, produce content like fact-sheets, letters, and tracking metrics, etc. These products should align with and drive the goals, priorities and benchmarks of the IWG.
- Support the IWG and its sub-groups by organizing regular meetings, facilitating information-sharing, identifying problems and proposing solutions.
- Serve as a conduit on IRA investment efforts to CAC colleagues; identify and advise on field, communications, and advocacy work that can celebrate local grants, loans, or new projects and facilities.
- Shape and in some cases drive CAC’s ‘national narrative’ around IRA investments. This may be through the creation of mapping tools, tickers, thermometers, or other products to showcase the Administration’s progress in getting IRA investments to local communities.
- Contribute to annual and quarterly planning and goal-setting for Administrative activity.
- Track and report IWG activity (meetings, conversations, events, etc).
- Attend briefings, meetings, and events, for CAC staff and, as needed, with external allies.
- Manage internal Administrative tracking, including reviewing and summarizing major legislation. Present distilled Administrative tracking to coalition members.
- At least 4 to 6 years of experience working on advocacy or political campaigns, on Capitol Hill, or with an advocacy or nonprofit organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and engage with colleagues, external stakeholders, and public figures, including executive officials, effectively and appropriately.
- Relationship builder who maintains collaborative relationships throughout the organization and with members of Congress, staff, key federal agency officials, CAC coalition partners, their working groups, consultants, funders and vendors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Congress, Congressional committees, the legislative and regulatory process and oversight of the federal government by Congress, and Congressional procedure and protocol.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to perform and concurrently prioritize multiple projects with competing timelines, flexibly adjusting work plans according to shifting priorities
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements with impeccable attention to detail.
- Experience with office equipment and software applications including MS Office, Google Suite, etc; knowledge of Congress Plus is preferred.
- Excellent independent worker and thinker who can anticipate the future needs and opportunities for CAC and the Government Affairs Team.
- Responsive to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
