A Calculated Risk: How Funders Have Developed Their Risk Appetite in Pursuit of Racial and Health Equity

Description

Register Today!

We invite you to join us for our upcoming webinar, “A Calculated Risk: How Funders Have Developed Their Risk Appetite in Pursuit of Racial and Health Equity” on Monday, November 10th at 9am PT/12pm ET. Hosted by the Racial Equity Advancement & Defense Initiative (READI) and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the webinar will focus on the evolving legal landscape and what it means for health-focused funders.

Political and legal pressures have challenged race- and identity-explicit work, but the path forward is clear: defending race-explicitness requires informed, intentional risk appetite. Only then can we move the needle for everyday Americans whose lives are most impacted by these issues.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • The evolving legal environment for racial equity and health equity work
  • A high-level overview of the READI Legal Landscape Analysis and practical tools to assess risk appetite
  • A live application of READI’s Risk Assessment Tool with funders leading the way and taking bold risks
  • Actionable ways funders can strengthen support for racial equity and health equity

Our panel includes:

  • E. Bomani Johnson (moderator), Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives, ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities
  • Candice Simmons, Program Manager, ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities
  • Giridhar G. Mallya, Senior Policy Officer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
  • Jesse Beason, President, Northwest Health Foundation
  • Ivory Clarke, Vice President of Strategic Relationships, Missouri Foundation for Health
We hope you’ll join us for this discussion. Please mark your calendars and register now to secure your spot.
