Protect Maunakea #NativeGiving #33DaysOfGiving

Join us as we stand in solidarity with our Hawaiian relatives to protect the sacred mountain Maunakea from the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) – an ongoing battle for the past decade. Led by kupuna (elders), this community of kia’i (protectors) have created an environment grounded in Kapu Aloha (manner of discipline by conducting oneself with reverence for all things). This Giving Tuesday, we kick off “33 Days of Giving” in honor of the 33 elders who were arrested on July 17, 2019.

We are grateful to partner with the Hawai’i Unity & Liberation Institute (HULI) and Pu'uhonua o Pu'uhuluhulu in collaboration with the Royal Order of Kamehameha 'Ekahi.  HULI has had a team on the ground since day one and provides heavy logistical support, infrastructure support, media support, medic support, and educational support for the current stand on Maunakea.

As the winter months are upon us, the mountain has snow and most days are cold and rainy. Expenses are adding up, depleting funds. Please give by January 4, 2020 to help protect Maunakea. Mahalo!
