About This Grant

Inuit across Inuit Nunaat are leading powerful conversations about community priorities, knowledge-sharing, and futures rooted in culture, connection, and care. This grant supports Inuit-led gatherings that bring together Inuit from across Alaska, Canada, and Greenland to exchange experiences, build relationships, and envision the future of their communities and regions.

These gatherings are shaped by Inuit and grounded in place. They can focus on a topic, skill, or theme that matters to those organizing—ranging from language revitalization and climate adaptation to midwifery, hunting practices, or youth mentorship.

Gatherings must take place between November 2025 and December 2026, with at least 15 participants, including a minimum of 3 Inuit from each country (Alaska, Canada, and Greenland). Each gathering must run for at least three full days, not including travel time.

The maximum grant amount is $150,000 USD, and funding can support travel, accommodation, food, facilitation, honoraria, interpretation, supplies, and more. Gatherings must happen within Inuit Nunaat—this includes regions like Greenland, Nunatsiavut, Nunavik, Nunavut, the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, North Slope, Northwest Alaska, Norton Sound, and Southwest Alaska.

There is no requirement for how funds must be used, as long as gatherings are safe, grounded in community priorities, and align with one or more of the Inuit Nunaat Fund’s strategic goals. INF encourages applicants to think broadly and in alignment with Inuit definitions of success, healing, and impact.
