About Raising the Village: We are Raising The Village, a non-profit international development organization on a mission to end ultra-poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. What started as a small start-up in 2012 has now become a fast-growing organization with 150+ national staff in Uganda and a team of 11 people in Toronto and New York, working together to lift communities out of ultra-poverty in last-mile villages in Uganda. To date, we have supported more than 965,000 people through our innovative holistic approach. Find out more about our programs and impact at: www.raisingthevillage.org Responsibilities: Achieve our revenue growth goals by securing, managing, and stewarding support from foundations, multilateral agencies, and governments Streamline our development operations by creating templates and simple processes to ensure a consistent funder engagement experience Own the project management and systems for relationship management and funder reporting, ensuring teammates are well-informed of milestones and deadlines Oversee the creation of timely, compelling, and accurate grant proposals, funder reports, and budgets that meet grant requirements Optimize our CRM (Salesforce) to maximize its effectiveness for consistent funder cultivation, follow up, and reports Analyze data and key performance indicators from programs to strengthen fundraising appeals Guide the strategic direction for proposals, cases for support, donor reports and recognition and other fundraising materials Manage the partnerships calendar and opportunity pipeline, including strategy and prioritization The ideal candidate will have: A background in institutional fundraising in nonprofits or the international development sector with at least $1 million annual budget Proven track-record of fundraising growth in multiple roles with increasing responsibility Clear examples of effective goal setting, grant proposal development, work planning, and timely reporting that led to renewals Experience developing grant management systems with a CRM, ensuring compliance with external and internal requirements with high attention to detail Examples of grant proposals or presentations that demonstrate the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling narratives that drive fundraising outcomes A passion for using data effectively to strengthen fundraising appeals A clear approach for donor research to identify new opportunities and tailor pitches accordingly Cross-cultural competency with the ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with teammates in other countries Deep commitment to our mission to alleviate extreme poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa in a sustainable way Experience working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial nonprofit environment helpful, but not required Personal connection to or professional experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa is a bonus More Information: Location: New York City strongly preferred, but open to US-based candidates willing to travel occasionally. We operate in a remote-first environment and currently do not share an in-person office space, though we are likely to consider a hybrid, in-person arrangement at a later date. Travel Required: Up to 25% of the time Reports to: Director of Strategic Partnerships Manages: Senior Project Coordinator - Institutional Grants Senior Project Coordinator - Restricted Grants Salary: $120,000 - $130,000. This is a full-time exempt position.
