We do this by increasing engagement and funding to Native-led organizations; increasing and supporting Native professionals in philanthropy; and transforming and influencing the philanthropic sector to be in alignment with an Indigenous worldview.  

About the Position

Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP) has numerous projects in the area of public-private partnerships that require the support of a project manager. This position will be the primary project management person to work with the Chief Economic Advisor to further efforts. The Tribal Community Vision Partnership (Vision Partnership) is a national public-private partnership to drive a large-scale infusion of capital into Indian Country and promote self-determination and sustainable economic development. Led by NAP, the Vision Partnership will create pathways that clearly define how capital can effectively flow into Indian Country and offer a replicable, sustainable model for all Tribes to build their respective communities and economies. The Vision Partnership will steer philanthropic and private investment to support three types of impactful, low-risk projects in critical areas where capital is most needed: Community Development, Economic Development, and Native-Owned Businesses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with NAP leadership, Tribal leaders, philanthropic partners, private investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support communication and coordination efforts to ensure alignment across all partners.
  • Track progress on key initiatives, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Develop reports on the progress of all activities.
  • Develop and implement project schedules and objectives, ensuring the initiative's goals and objectives are met efficiently.
  • Conduct research and prepare share outs to the team on findings to inform all activities.

Partnership Development:

  • Assist in the identification of new partnerships that align with the Vision Partnership’s goals.
  • Support and educate stakeholders on the progress of projects, challenges, and the importance of sustainable economic development in Indian Country.

Research & Analysis:

  • Organize and gather project data and outcomes to assess effectiveness and inform future decision-making.
  • Conduct research to identify areas of opportunity for investment and development in Native communities.
  • Provide feedback; identify and report on challenges that may impact stakeholders

Non-Essential Job Functions 

Other related duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skill & Ability 

  • Knowledge in federal government and Tribal governance, particularly relating to economic practices and resource management with a focus on sustainability.
  • Knowledge of project management software tools and CRM, such as SalesForce and Asana.
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Knowledge of investment processes and capital development.
  • Familiarity with the principles of Indigenous self-determination and sustainability.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements 

  • This position requires travel up to 35% of the time for meetings and conferences. 
  • Must be able to lead Zoom and other video conference calls and use computer equipment. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, public administration, economics, or a related field, plus at least five years of experience in project management, preferably in economic development, public-private partnerships, Indigenous community development, or nonprofit sectors. Relevant work experience in project managing activities relevant to economic development or public-private partnerships may be substituted for the academic requirements.
  • Preferred experience working with Tribal communities or Native-led organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
