Support LA: Resources For Those Affected and How To Help

As wildfires continue to devastate the Los Angeles area, the team at Native Americans in Philanthropy has mobilized our network to check in our partners based in LA County and to tap into emergency resources and relief funds.

The following is a list of resources for those affected and also a way for others to support the wildfire victims through funding and volunteer opportunities.

Please check back on this list often as the NAP Team will be updating it as the situation continues to develop.

This list was last updated: Friday, January 10 at 2:30PM Pacific

United American Indian Involvement Multiple Resources

United American Indian Involvement, touted as "LA's Home for Native People, has published an "Everything You Need To Know" guide which includes links to information about how to stay safe, where to sign-up for alerts, evacuation zones and road closures, local aid organizations in need of donations, and more.

UAII's headquarters (located at 1453 W Temple Street in the Echo Park neighborhood) has opened up as a temporary emergency shelter for its employees and community members. They also are taking applications for immediate housing and long-term housing. To find out more information, please call (213) 804-1879.

UAII is also accepting donations at this time to support those impacted by the fires and you can find a list of the requested items here

Locale Magazine's "Here's How To Help Victims Of The LA Fires" Guide

A huge thanks to our friends at ABFE for re-sharing Local Magazine's guide that includes the following sections: "Where To Find Information", "Where To Find Shelters" (for both humans and animals), "How To Volunteer", and "How To Donate".

MALAN (Mutual Aid Los Angeles Network) Fire & Wind Storm Resources

The MALAN team is maintaining a spreadsheet of resources available to those affected by the fires in a Google Sheet and will update it with new resources or calls for volunteers & donations.

Center for Disaster Philanthropy Resource Page & California Wildfire Fund

Our friends at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) have put together a 2025 North American Wildfires resource page that educates people on the contributing factors of wildfires and their lasting effects and consequences.

CDP also has a California Wildfire Recovery Fund that supports the needs of marginalized and at-risk residents of California after fires.

Global Giving California Wildfire Fund

All donations to the Global Giving California Wildfire Fund will support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in California. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs emerge, Global Giving will support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in the impacted areas, particularly those working with low-income, historically underserved communities. This fund will remain open throughout 2025 to remain responsive to new fires.

If you're a funder interested in how to support Tribal and Native communities impacted by the California wildfires, please reach out to info@nativephilanthropy.org.
