Job Details

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer, Oweesta
Job Level: Exempt
Hours: Full Time
Location: Remote
Salary: $100,000

The Director of Finance will assist the CFO in the daily management of the finance department.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Backup for staff accountant and finance assistant during pto.
  • Quality assurance over policy oversight.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance over all financial functions and policies.
  • Weekly reconciliations between lending and finance departments.
  • Weekly budget to actual computations.
  • Due diligence for investments and grantors.
  • Expense report reconciliation including compliance with policy.
  • Assist with quarterly financial reporting.
  • Assist with grant reporting including reporting for federal grants and compliance with uniform guidance.
  • Assist with audit and 990.
  • Assist CFO as needed with additional duties.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a BS in accounting.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office suite applications.
  • Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the Office of Management and Budget Circular A133 audit.
  • Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
