Job Details

Summary/Objective:

The Director of Prospect Development and Analytics is responsible for the overall creation and implementation of prospect development policies, process and practices, oversight of prospect research and prospect management activity, and creating a robust data analytics program that will inform data-driven fundraising strategy. Additionally, the role will implement a due diligence program that will ensure accountability while protecting CW institutional reputation.

Essential Functions:

1. Create, implement, manage, and communicate effective processes and procedures of a strategic data-driven prospect management system leading to fundraising success.

2. Act in a consulting role to fundraisers and leadership by identifying core business needs and developing and recommending solutions and initiatives based on feedback and careful data analysis.

3. Implement relationship management analytics, prospect/portfolio reviews, and concentrated insights on donors and prospects by conducting internal/external benchmarking analysis; develop a program of descriptive and predictive analytics to meet desired outcomes.

4. Design advanced analytical reporting protocols resulting in visualizations and/or dashboards that appropriately analyze fundraiser activity and provide actionable insights on prospects and donors. Communicate results effectively with end users and leadership.

5. Ensure a continual process of prospect pipeline generation, including creating mechanisms to facilitate movement of prospects through the solicitation cycle; oversee the prospecting and screening process of new prospects.

6. Collaborate with internal partners to craft effective prospect strategies that contribute towards campaign goals utilizing data driven decision making; partner to energize campaign reporting using descriptive and predictive analytics.

7. Serve as a data analytics expert, assist in developing/implementing training programs in effective prospect management and analytics to optimize strategic data driven decision making.

8. Create, implement, and manage a due diligence process.

9. Supervise, train, and coach team members while developing and reporting on short- and long-term goals.  

Position Type:  Regular FT  

Required and Preferred Education and Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in prospect development or fundraising operations.

• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, prospect management design and implementation, strategic planning, and the ability to effectively communicate data-focused process and procedure to colleagues.

• Experience managing a team while also being an individual contributor and working independently.

• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess processes and opportunities and develop effective solutions.

• Experience crafting effective and actionable data visualizations/dashboards with advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

• Commitment to an inclusive workplace and the values of the organization. Preferred:

• Master’s degree in data science, library and information science, or data analytics.

• Experience interpreting and utilizing complex data sets and effectively communicating results.

• Expert ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.

• Deep knowledge and understanding of fundraising and development operations concepts, procedures, and practices.   Qualifications:

• Excellent research and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects while meeting benchmarks and deadlines.

• Strong leadership skills in thought, word, and action.

• Exceptional organizational and presentation skills.

• Ability to always maintain confidentiality.

• Proven experience in developing reports and complex queries.

• Ability to communicate across all levels of staff, from coordinators to leadership.
