About the role: This position will provide program coordination activities across a broad spectrum of programs in the Central Development division. Core responsibilities will include coordinating the planning and implementation of regional and international development travel activities, with particular focus on Presidential travel. In addition, this position will serve as program coordinator and point person for coordinating data and reporting on other development initiatives, including but not limited to fundraising initiatives, production reports, giving incentives.  While reporting to the Sr. Director, Development Operations, essential to the success of the position will be the ability to work closely with several development leaders and program managers throughout Central Development and the Foundation.

What you’ll do: Presidential Regional Travel (35%)

  • Manage the multiple processes which organize and support the Foundation’s work relative to presidential engagement – largely in regional, national, and international markets, yet also in Minnesota when needed.
  • Manage overall travel schedule for President’s engagement in collaboration with president’s schedulers, as well as other designated VIP travel for development.
  • Oversee deadlines for events logistics, list development for invitations, identification of principal and leadership prospects in regions, and approvals from unit partners.

International Development Program (15%)

  • Guide and support two groups for this program: the UMF internal workgroup for international development and engagement, and an ‘outside’ advisory group made up of representatives from UMAA, GPS, key unit partners, President’s Office, Marketing/Communications, and others.
  • Manage key projects for the International Development Program, such as the international web-page and e-newsletter, toolkit (in collaboration with Marketing/Communications).

Development Operations and Reporting (40%)

  • Working with the Sr. Director, Development Operations, facilitate reporting on fundraising activities, including but not limited to student support, faculty/research, DEI, and other targeted fundraising initiatives.  
  • Monitor program participation and lead reporting on participation in giving incentive programs, including but not limited to Bentson Scholarship Challenge, DEI Giving Incentive, and other historical giving incentive programs.
  • Support Philanthropic Naming Program activities, including but not limited to working with Prospect Development on due diligence work, refining naming materials and processes, and meeting with development staff to provide information and training regarding naming procedures.
  • Support the data collection of various surveys, including GG+A ALF (annual and special collections), VSE, CASE in collaboration with Finance and Prospect Development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with six years of project or program management experience with proven results.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work across/with multiple units and departments
  • High level of organizational skills
