About the role: The Project Manager, Direct Marketing Fundraising Programs manages integrated, multi-channel marketing efforts for University and health system annual giving programs. Responsibilities include all aspects of direct marketing fundraising (creative development, data processing/ letter shop instructions, auditing of vendor reports, vendor management, tracking, and analysis), print production, mailing, e-marketing, incentives, and maintaining knowledge of state regulatory compliance and industry trends/ best practices. Incumbent also contributes to a supportive and inclusive workplace.
What you’ll do:
70% Project Management
- Independently project manage all aspects of University’s direct marketing giving program projects and ad hoc initiatives. Create project plans, draft copy, proofread, and coordinate internal and external sign offs.
- Facilitate effective and impactful fundraising strategies. Demonstrate expertise in negotiating project pricing and timelines, vet and select vendors, and manage vendor expectations and oversee execution of all aspects of production.
- Harness database capabilities (DeSelect and DMS) to routinely generate and create targeted donor and prospect marketing efforts for mailings, emails, and other ad hoc projects. Possess a strong understanding of data structure and high level of comfort dealing with complex data.
- Lead opt-out process for annual giving program donors and manage donor correspondence via phone and email with little to no assistance from supervisor
30% Analytic and Strategic Thinking
- Collaborate on strategy and manage execution of annual plans.
- Analyze and help develop reports and proposals for planning and implementation. Analyze campaign results and make recommendations to senior manager.
- Lead rental list strategy for acquisition program for medicine and health program at UMF, analyzing and developing results reports

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or other related field) plus at least two years of experience, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least six years.
- Project management experience.
- Experience working with marketing database technologies or marketing customer information files systems.
