Position Announcement  Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator  Reports to: Communications and Event Manager Supervisory Role: No  Status: Full-time; Non-Exempt   Travel: Yes  Location: Remote   Application Deadline: TBD  Wage Rate: $21.63 to $24.00 per hour based on experience  About Native Americans in Philanthropy  Native Americans in Philanthropy envision a future with healthy and sustainable Native communities supported by responsive philanthropy. Our mission is to promote equitable and effective philanthropy in Native communities. We do this by increasing engagement and funding to Native-led organizations, increasing and supporting Native professionals in philanthropy, and transforming and influencing the philanthropic sector to be in alignment with an Indigenous worldview.   About the Position  Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP) is hiring a Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator to join the communications and marketing team to coordinate all the important components of event promotions and marketing event/program operations. As an Event Coordinator, they will be responsible to assist with the planning and development of key corporate meetings and events, working with the marketing department on the production of all event materials, invitations, public relations, and social media. As Graphic Designer support, they will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Graphic Design standards of NAP, developing a digital presence, assisting with marketing, creating visual assets, developing promotional images for events, designing websites, posting on social media, and designing printed materials.     Primary Responsibilities  Graphic Design Work 
  1. Create visual, graphic, and video support for internal and external needs at NAP and for print and digital media. 
  2. Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions. 
  3. Collaborate with the graphic designer, and works to produce event content for style, structure, and organization consistency.  
  4. Assist the department with the maintenance of all creative assets (print, digital, web, and video) to support the Communications and Marketing strategies of NAP.
  5. Working with deadlines, take a project from ideation to completion, which includes preparing final files for print and digital. Perform retouching and modification of graphics as needed. 
  6. Create e-newsletters and journal formats and assist with content development on Hubspot. 
  7. Support the organization’s website updates and content to ensure that it aligns with the brand strategy and organizational standards 
Event Coordinator 
  1. The Coordinator expertly assists event management, planning, and execution in coordination with the marketing and development teams. 
  2. Support NAP staff for delegated events, including planning travel, assisting with venue arrangements, creating booth content, and other related activities. 
  3. Work with the team to create an online event and assist with announcements, enrollment, and live event management online.  
  4. Provides assistance to all phases of the event department, including but not limited to planning, marketing, servicing, and administrative procedures. 
  5. Create online event registration landing pages with appropriate graphics 
Non-Essential Job Functions  Other related duties as assigned.  Knowledge, Skill & Ability 
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software. 
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and proficiency with graphic design software. 
  • Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines. 
  • Communication and marketing skills 
  • Proven experience as an event coordinator 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills for dealing with vendors and staff 
  • Ability to proofread and produce accurate and high-quality work 
  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment 
Physical Requirements 
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time using a computer to prepare content for print digital media 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for event setup 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, push on a cart 50 pounds, and move marketing materials and displays to set up a booth for events 
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, marketing, communications, or related field preferred 
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design 
  • 3-5 years of experience in event support 
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web 
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred 
  • Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
