Native Americans in Philanthropy is dedicated to increasing and nurturing Indigenous representation in the philanthropic sector. With that in mind, the opportunities on our Job Board fit one of the following criteria:
- The position is within a philanthropic or nonprofit organization
- The position itself is philanthropic in nature and/or focuses on roles essential to or valued by the philanthropic sector i.e. fundraising, grantmaking, gift processing or development, donor relations, nonprofit management and/or administration, social justice, equity, conservation, etc.

Pacific Northwest & Alaska Regional Development Coordinator
Job Details
- Expand the NFF base of donors by actively pursuing funding sources and creating new development and partnership opportunities.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward current and potential donors, resulting in increased charitable contributions and stronger relationships.
- Develop a working knowledge of regional programs and projects and be adept at conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences in an understandable, relatable, and compelling manner.
- Research prospects, write proposals and reports, and track results.
- Initiate telephone contact with prospects and funders to qualify, cultivate, and close grants and commitments.
- Work closely with program staff to cultivate and solicit prospective donors, manage partner relationships, and provide editorial review for proposals, letters of inquiry, corporate decks, sponsorship materials, etc. and assist with final proposal packaging as needed.
- Provide input on and implement fundraising strategies for NFF work in Alaska, Washington and Oregon.
- Respond to inquiries from interested donors and partners.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience with proven results in fundraising, including prospecting, cultivation, donor solicitation, proposal development and donor stewardship.
- Experience and interest in conservation issues and a nonprofit environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, and telephone communication.
- Demonstrated proficiency in common office procedures and software, including Microsoft 365 and Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, & Excel. Familiarity with CRM systems.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work independently, managing a variety of projects and tasks effectively, with minimal oversight, in a remote environment.
- Ability to represent the NFF, communicate the NFF mission, and discuss NFF programs and projects with diverse partners and donors in a clear and professional manner through top-notch written and oral communication skills, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well and be flexible in a team-oriented environment.
- A commitment to the mission of the NFF.
- A commitment to ethical fundraising and DEI principles.
- Both resilience and a sense of humor.
- Ability to travel in and out of region, and occasionally work evenings and/or weekends.
