Native Organizers Alliance The Native Organizers Alliance (NOA) is a unique Indigenous training and organizing network dedicated to building the capacity of Native tribes and community groups to build grassroots movements for transformational change. It also provides a forum for tribal, traditional and community leaders and organizers to work in collaboration with each other and promote their work with non-Native national allies. NOA supports grassroots-driven social change rooted in traditional practices and values to advance tribal sovereignty and the health and wellbeing of Native people in rural and urban Native communities and on reservations across Indian Country.   Job Description Reporting to the Managing Director, the Development Operations Manager will be directly responsible for the overall operations of the Development Office, including the management of the organization’s gift processing, tracking, recording and acknowledgment processes.   Primary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Managing Director in creating and implementing development operation procedures, policies and strategies.
  • Manage day to day operations of the development office, data entry, donor acknowledgements and gift processing.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the donor database, keeping clean and organized donor records.
  • Run weekly donor/funder reports to keep NOA staff informed on recent gifts.
  • Under guidance of the Managing Director, develop procedures and guidelines for databases to assure integrity of data and records.
  • Manage NOA’s gift acknowledgement process.
  • Manage and resolve fundraising database issues by effectively managing relevant aspects of the database support process.
  • Maintain foundation grants tracking system and calendar.
  • Keep updated budget documentation for funding requirements.
  • Assist with prospect research for major gift prospects.
  • Work closely with NOA fiscal sponsor to monitor donations, grants payments and budget reconciliation.
  • Assume additional administrative responsibilities as requested to support the department and the organization.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Highly organized with experience with developing systems.
  • Demonstrated budgeting and finance skills.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in fundraising.
  • Knowledge of membership, online giving and social media trends in fundraising.
  • Knowledge and experience with fundraising software, such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge and/or other donor database systems.
  • Experience with working with donors and foundation staff.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects at a time.
  • Strong analytical skills (Some understanding of databases and giving trends analysis).
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and Raiser’s Edge (or other donor management systems).
Qualifications

  • Five years of experience working in a development office.
  • Experience with back-office functions related to gift processing, data entry, grants tracking and reporting.
  • Experience with donor databases.
  • High energy and passion for NOA’s mission.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet deadlines and needs of the organization, including availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Can communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Familiar with work plans and able to participate in setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage your time efficiently.
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills and know how to give and receive feedback well.
  • A desire to grow and develop personally, and deepen our collective Indigenous frameworks. You want to learn from others in an exciting moment in Native history with an organization committed to movement-building for transformational change.
  Compensation Salary range: Starting salary is $60,000-70,000 depending on experience. Benefits: Include health, dental, vision insurance and retirement plan; paid holidays and a generous vacation and sick policy.
