About This Grant

Benefiting communities where Nike employees live, work and play.

The Nike Community Impact Fund (NCIF) was established at Oregon Community Foundation in 2010. Through this fund, Nike employees work with OCF to award at least $550,000 per year to nonprofits and schools in the Metropolitan Portland region, the Northern Willamette Valley and in southwest Washington to give youth positive experiences in sport and physical activity, and advance healthier, supportive and more inclusive communities.

The Nike Community Impact Fund (NCIF) takes a collaborative approach to grant making by partnering with Nike employees to participate in the grant-making process and directly impact the local communities where they live and work.

Nike is powering the future of youth sport – with the vision of an active, inclusive world that inspires all youth to play and achieve their greatest potential. Nike is focused on providing quality coaching, engaging more girls in sport/physical activity and addressing societal barriers that keep too many youth on the sidelines.

NCIF helps local organizations and schools bring the benefits of sport to their communities, giving kids an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of quality play and active lives, and creating stronger communities where sports and physical activity are a highly-valued part of everyday life.

Each eligible application is reviewed by a committee of Nike employees who are committed to positively impacting the communities in which they live and work. In addition to scoring answers for detail and clarity, reviewers are looking for applications that clearly demonstrate impact on the organization’s constituents, as well as specificity about how the nonprofit’s work will make the community stronger. We are eager to read your stories, so please write from the heart while ensuring you answer each question thoroughly.
