We remain committed — today and always — to all of our Fellows and to expanding our outreach to lower-resourced communities.    Position Summary The Director of Finance is responsible for leading a broad range of fiscal and operational duties including: managing and conducting ongoing financial reporting; facilitating budget processes and aligning those process with organizational goals; maintaining and overseeing the organization’s general ledger; maintaining registrations with relevant federal and state agencies; and providing support to outside auditors and other third-parties. As the organization looks to the future, this individual will bring a critical and analytical voice to the table for driving the direction of the organization’s growth.   The candidate must have a flexible schedule, and be prepared to join phone and in-person meetings earlier and later than regular business hours, including some weekends.   Key Responsibilities   Finance - Manage all aspects of day to day bookkeeping and accounting processes, supported by an Assistant Bookkeeper, including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in accordance to GAAP. - Receive and deposit all organizational revenue and complete reconciliations between Salesforce and QuickBooks recordkeeping systems. - Oversee disbursement activities and monitor daily cash flow position. - Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including standard financial reports, Board reporting packages, department-level reports, and grant-specific financial reports. - Prepare special reports for CEO and Treasurer by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. - Prepare and issue invoices for grants and sponsorships as needed.  - Complete month-end closing procedures and prepare journal entries for prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, and payroll cash accounts. - Execute biweekly payroll activities using a third-party payroll service provider. - Oversee annual 1099 reporting process for vendors. - Provide recommendations for procedural improvements and implementations. - Coordinate with auditors in preparation and completion of year-end audit and IRS 990 / annual state filings. - Coordinate with banking services providers on ongoing compliance needs. - Assist with financial strategy for Resolution’s new Dutch entity, which has a small office slated to open in mid 2024. - Work with CEO and other senior leadership in facilitating annual organizational budget, financial planning for substantive programs, and strategic planning efforts.    Leadership - Manage, mentor, and support a part-time Assistant Bookkeeper. - Attend Board meetings and work with Board members to ensure alignment on financial progress and objectives.  - Actively participate in organization-wide strategy discussions and ongoing conversations as a member of the Leadership Team.  - Foster a collaborative environment and manage cross-organizational relationships. - Lead special projects as determined by opportunity and need.   Other Related Duties, As Requested   Qualifications - At least seven years of accounting or finance experience with proven success in nonprofit financial management, with at least 10 years of professional experience overall.  - Proactive approach to daily work, problem solving, and long-term project implementation. - Ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment and manage cross-organizational relationships. - Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and good judgment. - Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with vigilant attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet high-quality standards. - Computer literacy, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.  - Extensive experience with QuickBooks. - Familiarity/experience with Salesforce or other CRM (training available). - Commitment to the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Learning (outlined here in our DEI statement: https://resolutionproject.org/dei-statement/). - Commitment to protecting young people from abuse, per Resolution’s Youth Protection Policy. - Resolution requires that all staff be fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO-authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a medical reason or sincerely held religious belief).
