As the Development Research Analyst, DEI Initiatives, you will work frequently in partnership with both the Assistant Director of Development Research, DEI Initiatives and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team within the Office of University Development to focus on diversifying the prospect pipeline. You will work with schools, colleges, and units to analyze information to support the strategic cultivation and solicitation of prospects. Your work gathering and combining information supports strategic cultivation and solicitation of a diverse pool of major giving prospects. These activities include
bringing new individuals to the appropriate attention of leadership. You will independently manage your own workload and assist research team colleagues.

Responsibilities*
- Partner with the Assistant Director of Development Research, DEI Initiatives and DEI team to implement strategies for diversifying Michigan’s donor and volunteer base.
- Design and implement equity-based strategies to acquire and use data to fundraise for DEI programs and to diversify Michigan’s donor and volunteer base.
- Be a steward of the data in the donor database, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of prospect records through data entry and clean up daily.
- Provide consultation with a data-centered approach to campaign planning and execution.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information. Follow the ethical and confidentiality guidelines of both U-M and Apra.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One or more years of office experience is necessary.
- Experience working directly with people of varying identities with special focus on race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic diversity.
- Knowledge of, commitment to, and interest in concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace as well as social justice and activism.
- Prior experience managing sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Developed scanning, skimming, and reading comprehension skills, and the ability to assess the relative value of and summarize relevant information into reasonable, well-written documents.
- Computing and online research skills, including relational database software, online databases and the internet.
