The University of Colorado Boulder Office of Advancement encourages applications for a Discovery Officer. This position is embedded in the Parent Giving and Boulder Advancement Programs (PG/BAP) office and reports to the Managing Senior Director of Development and Unit Lead. The primary focus of the Discovery Officer is conducting outreach to identify prospective donors and build a sustainable prospect pipeline to support the achievement of the PG/BAP unit’s collective fundraising goals. Applying creativity, problem-solving skills, and exemplary professionalism, the Discovery Officer will lead the PG/BAP prospect and donor outreach across all channels of communication and support Development Officers’ ability to cultivate and solicit philanthropic gifts for the University. Additionally, the Discovery Officer will manage a modest portfolio of Colorado-based donors and prospective donors from which they will cultivate and solicit support. This position will perform activities related to fundraising, prospect research, and donor stewardship. This is an entry-level role meant to provide exposure to many areas of advancement work and a pathway for a successful career in fundraising and relationship management while helping to increase engagement and philanthropic investment for the University.
